Dice Commissions

Ah, good to see you! Step closer and let me regale you with tales of custom-crafted dice, each as unique as the adventurer who wields them. It all begins with but a spark of imagination....

Let your imagination run wild

Perhaps you fancy a set that gleams in shades of pink, or a collection inspired by your current adventuring companion. Or mayhaps a technique in my past work has caught your eye, but you’d prefer to see it in different colours that better suit your spirit. Whatever your vision, I’m here to help it take shape. Simply fill out the form below, and walk me through what you have in mind — specific hues, mystical additives like mica or glitter, colour-shifting pigments, or precious foils of (rose) gold, silver, or copper. You might even wish to enshrine small treasures within the dice — think dried flowers, feathers, or even tiny 3D printed artefacts. The more references you provide, the more vivid the vision becomes! However, a word of caution, friend: while I am happy to draw inspiration from far and wide, I must insist on honouring the work of other dice artisans. I cannot, in good conscience, one on one replicate another’s crafted pieces entirely. Originality, after all, is the lifeblood of any trade.

A spell of time

Given the laborious nature of this craft, the journey to complete a custom set takes about 8 to 10 weeks. This is a rough estimate, and I tend to overestimate the time needed, just to be safe. I’ll keep you well informed as we progress, and should any delays arise, you’ll hear from me as soon as the winds shift. Likewise, I’ll be upfront about materials and any special requests, ensuring you receive a cost estimate before the actual casting begins. If your vision requires something out of the ordinary, I’ll also keep you posted on how it might affect the sacred timeline.

Toss a coin to your clacksmith
Once we’ve unravelled what you’d fancy, I’ll provide a more precise price, based on the complexity of the design and the materials needed. At this point, I’ll request a non-refundable deposit of 50% before we can embark on the fun part of our journey — creation! I’ll start by crafting a first set, sending you glimpses of the work as it progresses. If the dice don’t quite match your vision, worry not; the base commission price includes one re-pour to ensure we’re on the right path. Should the fates require further adjustments beyond this, I must ask for a small fee of €15,- (excl. VAT) per hour for the additional labour.

The works

Once the polyhedrals have been graced with your blessing, they proceed to their final workings — sanding, polishing, and inking. Patience is key here, as I let the dice rest for at least a week to ensure complete curing before any further work. After they’ve been polished, I’ll test the inking on the D6 and await your approval before completing the set. With that concluding blessing, I’ll give your dice one last waxing for that extra ✨shine✨, preparing them for their grand journey homebound. At this stage, I’ll kindly request the payment of the remaining balance within three business days, along with the cost of shipping. Once the final coin has been paid, your dice will be sent to their forever home, ready to join the ever-growing dice goblin hoard! So do take care to provide the correct address for delivery — after all, even the most magical of dice will be hopelessly lost if they don’t know what doorstep they should apparate to.

If a bit more time to arrange for payment is what you need, just send word; I’m more than happy to accommodate. However, if payment isn’t received, be it after the three days or the term we’ve agreed upon, I reserve the right to sell your commissioned dice, as well as any test pours, to another eager adventurer.

The ‘art’ in artisan

No matter the path you choose, rest assured that every die is made with equal doses of love and care. So much so, that despite all the will and efforts, they will always bear marks of their creation. Because although they are carefully crafted through  3D modelling, printing, moulding, pressure-casting, curing, sanding, polishing, and inking, they will also pick up a character of their own along the way — minor characteristics that make them truly unique. While perfectly suited for casual play, these dice are not intended for the high stakes of a casino table, though they are balanced as best as any artisan’s hand can achieve.

So, take a moment to consider all that you’ve read. Still eager to continue? Splendid! Let us forge ahead and see your dream dice brought to life!
